Кто такие братья Райт? Зачем птице хвост? Что случилось с чертежами махолётов Леонардо да Винчи? В чем загадка шмеля, который «по законам физики летать не может, но он этого не знает и поэтому летает»? Интерактивная экскурсия никого не оставит равнодушным, ведь каждый хоть раз мечтал о крыльях. Мы поговорим о самолётах, целеустремлённых инженерах и отважных лётчиках, увидим истребители времён войны и легендарный Boeing 747 в поперечном разрезе.

Залы истории полёта перенесут нас в предыдущее столетие. Вы услышите о братьях-изобретателях первого самолёта и увидите точную копию «Флайер-1», а я помогу разобраться в том, как огромные железные конструкции поднимаются в воздух и благодаря чему плывут по небу. Перед нами предстанет полномасштабный самолёт, раньше других одолевший Атлантику, и истребители «Спитфайр» и «Харрикейн», прославившие Британию в боях. Мы поговорим о первой женщине, совершившей одиночный перелёт из Великобритании в Австралию, и о том, чем это для неё обернулось. Её самолёт «Gipsy Moth» представлен в коллекции музея, и у нас будет шанс изучить его со всех сторон! Глядя на модели воздушных судов разных лет, мы проследим за эволюцией авиастроения и разберёмся, почему самолёт сейчас — самый надёжный вид транспорта в мире.
