Парадная и мрачная сторона Эдинбурга. Возвышенная и кровавая история его создания. Жестокая тирания и беспримерный гуманизм. Величайшие открытия и громкие преступления. За всем этим стоят люди. Кто они — доброжелатели или тираны? Об этом вы узнаете, побывав в Старом городе шотландской столицы и посетив места, в которых буквально замерло время.
Что вас ожидает
Концентрация готики и инопланетной природы в одном флаконе
Наш путь покажет шотландскую столицу со всех сторон: мы обойдём Старую часть города и современную, заберёмся к точкам с фантастическими панорамами и посетим места со звёздочкой, о которых вы узнаете только на прогулке. Маршрут охватит:
- Грассмаркет — рыночную площадь, южную границу Старого города, где в Средние века проводились казни.
- Кладбище Грэйфраерс — некрополь знаменитых людей и место важных исторических событий.
- Мост Георга IV, проходящий на уровне примерно четвёртого этажа жилых домов, откуда вы сможете оценить необычный многоуровневый ландшафт Эдинбурга.
- Кафе Элефант, прославившееся своей знаменитой посетительницей — Джоан Роулинг. Именно здесь она работала над своей первой книгой о Гарри Поттере.
- Замковый холм — отвесную скалу, на которой стоит Эдинбургский замок, где в Средневековье сжигали ведьм, а сейчас проходит знаменитый парад военных оркестров.
- Королевскую милю — сердце средневекового города, улицу, с которой начался Эдинбург, со множеством достопримечательностей, связанных с древней историей.
- Холирудский дворец — шотландскую резиденцию действующей королевы и место, где началась трагическая история Марии Стюарт.
- Холм Калтон-хилл — один из семи застывших вулканов Эдинбурга, на котором находятся монументы, связанные с наполеоновскими войнами, старая обсерватория, шар времени.
- Площадь св. Андрея, место с которого в конце 18 века началось строительство величественного Нового города в Георгианском стиле.
Личности в истории Эдинбурга
Во время нашего путешествия я расскажу об основателе города короле Давиде I и его матери Святой Маргарите Шотландской. Мы посетим места, связанные с королевой Марией Стюарт — я поделюсь историей её трагической судьбы. Также вы узнаете о протестантском священнике Джоне Ноксе, реформации в Шотландии и короле Роберте Брюсе, давшем стране независимость. Услышите об основателе мировой экономики Адаме Смите, философе Дэвиде Юме, писателях Вальтере Скотте, Роберте Льюисе Стивенсоне, поэте Роберте Бёрнсе и многих других. Все они жили и творили в этом замечательном городе. Ну и конечно, я расскажу вам о загадочных и нашумевших преступлениях, многие из которых вдохновляют писателей и создателей фильмов.

Эдинбург - чудесный город, который влюбляет себя с первого взгляда. А знакомиться с ним с Ириной, оказалось отдельным удовольствием. Прежде всего хочется отметить, что экскурсия прекрасно структурирована- очень хороший маршрут, понятная и логичная подача информации. Это на самом деле большая работа и свидетельствует о высочайшем профессионализме Ирины. Так много интересных фактов, деталей, событий. Но подача настолько легкая и интересная, что абсолютно не перегружаешься, все запоминаешь и хочется слушать и слушать. Ну и, конечно, Ирина- такая тактичная, интеллектуальная, эрудированная. Так много знаний в абсолютно разных областях. И просто потрясающая самоотдача. А еще Ирина прекрасно фотографирует. Было невероятно приятно познакомиться и провести время вместе. Огромное спасибо от всей нашей семьи за великолепную экскурсию, классные фотографии и полезные рекомендации.

В Эдинбурге были в первый раз. Экскурсия очень понравилась. 4 часа пролетели очень быстро, хотелось ещё слушать и слушать. Ирина отличный рассказчик! Очень понравилась экскурсия с Ириной, за 4 часа мы обошли весь исторический Эдинбург, получили полное представление об истории города, начиная со времен пиктов и скоттов вплоть до 20 века. Ирина - отличный рассказчик, благодаря филологическому педагогическому образованию, с собой у нее альбом с распечатками древних карт, фото гербов, королей, благодаря чему все очень хорошо запоминается и формируется целостная картина про историю и жизнь региона без перегрузки датами. В настоящее время такие гиды и действительно познавательные нескучные экскурсии большая редкость. Спасибо, эта экскурсия на 5+, очень рекомендую
