Описание

Приглашаю вас исследовать бывший портовый район Уоппинг, где я живу уже много лет. В 18-19 веках здесь располагался самый процветающий порт в мире. Сюда доставляли товары высшего класса: табак, вино, специи, кофе и слоновую кость. С тех времен сохранились лабиринты узких улиц, вереницы складов и разгрузочных причалов, таверны и даже виселицы для казни пиратов. Всё это вы увидите!

Что вас ожидает

  • Старинные пабы. Вы увидите заведение, которым владел художник Уильям Тёрнер. А также 500-летний паб Prospect of Whitby. Моряки, пираты, знать всех мастей, члены преступного синдиката — список его завсегдатаев можно перечислять бесконечно. Если бы стены паба могли говорить! К счастью, многие истории всё же известны, и я с радостью поделюсь ими с вами.
  • Пиратская виселица. Я раскрою, кого и за что на ней казнили.
  • Уоппингская гидравлическая станция. Построенная в 1890 году, она пережила множество инкарнаций, включая арт-пространство. А теперь стала съёмочной площадкой для фильмов и телепроектов. Возможно, вы даже видели некоторые из них.
  • Собачий остров и Русский док. Что это за места? Откуда произошли их названия? Всё это вы узнаете на экскурсии!
  • Табачный док. В 1849 здесь хранилось 8 миллионов галлонов вина и бесчисленное количество других ценных товаров. Я поделюсь с вами секретами этого места.
  • Бухта Шадвел. Вы увидите одну из немногих сохранившихся лондонских бухт. Остальные были осушены и застроены современными зданиями во второй половине 20 века.
  • Церковь Святого Павла. В прошлом «морская» церковь. Перед затяжными путешествиями матросы и капитаны обязательно посещали местную службу.

Если нам повезёт и экскурсия совпадёт с отливом, мы сможем спуститься на самое дно Темзы.

Организация экскурсии, коммуникация - все на отличном уровне. С учетом того, что от старых доков после второй мировой войны практически ничего не осталось, сам район Wapping(старых доков) - "так себе с исторической точки зрения", но когда экскурсию проводит местный житель, который любит место, где живет - это всегда интересно и занимательно.

Замечательная экскурсия. Хороший маршрут. Интересное и познавательное содержание. Великолепный, 100% -но клиентоориентированный гид 🔥. Всем рекомендую к посещению.

Сказать правду, это наверное самая необычная экскурсия в моей жизни. Если не вы фанат чего-то неординарного и необычного, то вам точно сюда. Я бы никогда в жизни не узнала историю лондонских доков и самых старых пабов, не увидела этот район и просто осталась бы жить в неведении) Рекомендую от души, если вы устали от попсы и классических маршрутов. Просто не пожалеете 🩶
