Иркутские творцы истории
О главных страницах прошлого мы будем говорить через судьбы людей, которые его создавали и формировали облик города. Отдельно поговорим о связи Иркутска с миссионерской деятельностью Русской православной церкви в Сибири, Китае и Монголии. Вы узнаете, как благодаря Пекинской духовной миссии Иркутск стал центром одноименной епархии, как православные миссионеры проходили подготовку и обучение в Иркутской духовной семинарии.

Кроме того, не обойдем вниманием деятельность иркутских купцов — вы узнаете о спонсируемых ими торгово-промысловых экспедициях 18 века, освоении берегов Северной Америки и образовании Российско-Американской компании. Станет понятным, почему в городе, удаленном на тысячи километров от морей и океанов, возникло морское адмиралтейство. И, конечно, я расскажу о Петре Великом Дальнего Востока — иркутском генерал-губернаторе Н.Н. Муравьеве-Амурском — и начале освоения региона в середине 19 века.

Путь города и создание его облика
Вы узнаете, как небольшое укрепленное поселение, основанное во второй половине 17 века, спустя сто с небольшим лет стало главным торгово-административным центром Восточной Сибири. И представите, как происходила застройка и формирование кварталов города после крупного иркутского пожара в 1879 году — обсудим старые и новые традиции деревянного и каменного строительства.

Маршрут прогулки пройдет по историческим и памятным местам. Вы побываете там, где располагался Иркутский острог, на Нижней набережной Ангары. Посетите территорию Знаменского женского монастыря. Погуляете по старой части города, «Большой» улице и пройдете вдоль бывшей резиденции генерал-губернаторов Восточной Сибири. А также увидите одно из старейших каменных зданий Иркутска (18 века) и осмотрите 130 квартал — особую зону исторической застройки с памятниками деревянного зодчества.

Хотелось познакомиться с историей Иркутска, и мы не ошиблись с выбором. Алексей настоящий профессионал, историк, поэтому у него интересная подача материала, архивные фотоснимки, малоизвестные факты. Было очень необычно стоять на какой-нибудь площади и сравнивать вид с этой же точки с видом на столетнем снимке! Непередаваемое чувство, как будто на машине времени перенеслись. Прогулялись по улочкам со старинными зданиями, очень атмосферно.
