Описание

По преданию, тело святой Екатерины после казни за веру было перенесено ангелами на высочайший пик Синайских гор. Три века спустя монахи Синайской обители нашли её тело и погребли в саркофаге. С тех пор монастырь носит имя мученицы. Вы сможете побывать там: прикоснуться к святыням и увидеть места, связанные с пророком Моисеем и его первыми шагами по христианской стезе.

Что вас ожидает

Около 05:30 мы отправимся из вашего отеля на утреннюю службу в базилике Преображения, действующей на территории монастыря Святой Екатерины. Дорога пролегает вдоль пустыни и живописных гор и занимает около 3 часов.

После службы вы увидите:

  • Куст Неопалимой Купины (упомянутый в Книге Исхода), в пламени которого Господь предстал перед Моисеем и призвал его вывести сынов Израилевых из Египта в Обетованную землю. Священный куст был перенесён во внутренний двор монастыря, а на месте, где он рос, возведена часовня Благовещения, или Неопалимой Купины.
  • Колодец Моисея, расположенный к северу от базилики Преображения. Считается тем колодцем, у которого Моисей встретил семь дочерей мадиамского священника Рагуила. Источник и по сей день снабжает монастырь водой.
  • Библиотеку монастыря, которая уступает только Ватикану по количеству хранящихся в ней реликвий: более 2000 икон (включая раннехристианские), колоколов, церковной утвари, книг и рукописей на древних языках.
  • Склеп (оссуарий), кладбище и монастырский сад. На кладбище расположена часовня Святого Трифона, а сад соединяется с монастырём древним подземным ходом, которым пользуются до сих пор. В саду выращивают овощи и фрукты для монастырского стола. Одна терраса отведена под оливковую рощу, обеспечивающую обитель свежим маслом.

После насыщенной экскурсии по монастырю вы отправитесь в город Дахаб на берегу Акабского залива. Отдохнёте на побережье, пообедаете в аутентичном ресторане и сможете приобрести сувениры для себя и близких.

В Шарм-Эль-Шейх мы вернёмся около 17:00.

Посещали монастырь св.Екатерины индивидуально - группа из 4 взрослых. У всех остались положительные впечатления от экскурсии. Всё чётко организовано, очень продуманно по времени. В монастырь приехали довольно рано, когда еще не было большого наплыва туристов, что дало возможность спокойно все осмотреть. После монастыря посетили город Дахаб и замечательный рыбный ресторан. Организаторам спасибо!

Очень понравилось, вежливый персонал, гид чудесный, все рассказал, водитель очень хороший и улыбчивый. Нам было комфортно всю дорогу, а за обедом мы приятно поболтали. Ресторан тоже очень понравился, вкусно, большие порции и красиво! Спасибо Вам.

Огромное спасибо ребятам организаторам за прекрасную программу. Наконец то с третьего раза получилось попасть внутрь храма. А гид с его знаниями только придал очарование данной экскурсии. Удалось узнать и увидеть многое про монастырь св. Екатерины и его историю. Причем отдельное спасибо экскурсоводу Метхабу за его глубокие знания по истории не только монастыря но и в целом древнего и современного Египта. И вся экскурсия прошла в спокойной обстановке. Без спешки. Низкий поклон, ребята. Спасибо.

Отличная поездка для любителей природы и истории. Древняя история и культура в сочетании с удивительными марсианскими пейзажами. Очень комфортная поездка, полностью подстроенная под нас. Во времени не ограничивают, количество остановок по желанию в любом живописном месте по требованию. Получили огромное удовольствие не только от поездки, но и от сервиса. Гид с именем Моисей, который в монастыре знает всё, водил нас по пустыне не 40 лет и привез нас домой счастливых и довольных. Спасибо организаторам!
