Будем исследовать Оксфорд, старинный и современный! Вы увидите его глазами студентки и местной жительницы. Я знаю каждый закоулок, тайну и легенду Town and Gown: и города, и университета. Я не только покажу вам, где учился Гарри Поттер, упала в кроличью нору Алиса и придумывал истории о хоббитах Толкин, но и передам яркое ощущение нашей повседневности.

Что вас ожидает

Истоки города: крепость, башни, легенды

  • Осмотрим древние стены, башни и ров — и обсудим, как из укрепления возник город
  • Поговорим о легенде основания Оксфорда троянцами, о принцессе Фридсвайде и рыцарях, защищавших город
  • Заглянем в бывшую тюрьму и услышим историю Матильды, спасшейся в белом платье по снегу

Сердце университета

  • Пройдём мимо Шелдонианского театра и старейших колледжей
  • Посетим церковь Святой Девы Марии, где веками собирались студенты
  • Разберёмся, как устроен университет, что такое колледж и чем живут студенты сегодня
  • Вспомним и о торжественных церемониях, мантиях и званых обедах

Университетские тайны и открытия

  • Зайдём в Музей науки, где находится камера Льюиса Кэрролла и доска Эйнштейна
  • Посмотрим на знаменитые «головы философов»
  • Прогуляемся вдоль библиотеки Бодли и камеры Рэдклиффа — поговорим о подземных туннелях и университетских привидениях

Литература и кино

  • Вы узнаете, где снимали сцены из Гарри Поттера
  • Увидите места, связанные с Алисой в Стране чудес, Толкином и К. С. Льюисом
  • Отыщете «дверь в Нарнию» и поймёте, как были придуманы хоббиты

Фотогеничные виды и городская жизнь

  • Пройдём под мостом Вздохов и выберем лучшие локации для съёмки (я исследовательница фотографии, поэтому знаю, где можно сделать особенные кадры)
  • Заглянем на Крытый рынок — место для покупки сувениров и гастрономических открытий
  • По желанию — поднимемся на башню или купол с панорамным видом

И дополнительная программа. Мы можем:

~ залезть на одну из оксфордских башен или под купол Шелдонианского театра
~ купить сладости в прелестном Alice’s shop
~ посетить музей Эшмола с его потрясающей коллекцией искусства
~ зайти в Музей естественной истории (любимое место детей!)
~ погулять в университетских парках
~ выпить пива в историческом пабе или традиционного чаю в кафе под сводами 13 века
~ а для самых пресыщенных — прогулка в район Джерико по каналу: мы посмотрим на «жилые» лодки, увидим здание университетского издательства и узнаем историю соперничества пабов The Trout («Форель») и The Perch («Окунь»)

Программа будет интересна и впервые приехавшим — я покажу основные достопримечательности, и тем, кто уже был в Оксфорде, — предложу менее очевидный маршрут с новыми открытиями. Возможен гибкий формат по вашим интересам — от классики до узких тем (например, фотография, история науки, литература или оксфордская кухня).

  • Некоторые колледжи можно посетить бесплатно (особенно в маленьких группах)
  • Вход в Christ Church платный — £20–24, по предварительной брони
  • Дополнительные расходы возможны при посещении музеев и кафе

Были на этой экскурсии 19.08. Прекрасно погуляли с Викторией, прогулка была очень приятной - узнавали и исторические факты, и говорили про современную жизнь в городе) Ну и не могу не поблагодарить отдельно Викторию за отзывчивость - была на связи и очень помогала советами по разным вопросам (и о приобретении билетов, и как лучше добраться и т.д.). Спасибо) P.s. Дочь-подросток тоже в восторге)
