Неужели старейшее здание города, о котором писал ещё Аристотель, это Маяк 19 века? Да, время не пощадило Батуми — войны и пожары лишили его старинных построек. Но нам повезло: город-порт заново расцвел, став, по словам Мандельштама, «русской спекулятивной Калифорнией». Уже не терпится узнать больше любопытностей о Батуми и запечатлеть его контрасты? Тогда вперёд!

Что вас ожидает

Немного истории
Как так вышло, что в древнем городе, который упоминал сам Аристотель больше 2000 лет назад, древности как таковой нет? Во времена, когда Чёрное море называлось Понт Эвксинский, на его берегах одна цивилизация сменяла другую, на место античных храмов и крепостей приходили христианские церкви, а их, в свою очередь, сменяли мечети… В то же время город постоянно страдал от войн и пожаров, что и привело к тому, что самое старое здание — Маяк — датируется 19 веком. И это очень символично, ведь только море и крики чаек остаются теми же, что и тьму веков прежде.

Что же тогда смотреть?
К счастью, с 19 века и поныне город постоянно развивался. Вас ждут уютные улочки с малоэтажной застройкой, шедевры советской архитектуры и современные небоскребы и арт-объекты. За ними и отправимся.

⚓️ Начнем с Морского вокзала, где вспомним миф о Ясоне, Медее и Золотом руне и поговорим о том, как он «рифмуется» с археологическими находками на территории Грузии и как его можно трактовать с точки зрения психологии.

🚪 Затем пройдем через Турецкий квартал, заглянем на площадь Пьяцца — да, в Батуми прослеживаются влияния других культур. По пути рассмотрим резные и кованные двери — гордость батумских улиц — и многие другие детали.

💰 Отыщем потайные дворики, и я расскажу, как расцвел Батуми в конце 19 века. «Русской спекулятивной Калифорнией» называл этот приморский город Осип Мандельштам. Вы услышите истории о законных и не очень источниках обогащения Батуми, выдающихся гражданах, знаменитых гостях — от Максима Горького до Агаты Кристи. А также поговорим о стиле жизни, менталитете и привычках местных.

🏙 И вот мы на Батумском бульваре. Полюбуемся его прихотливой застройкой, а заодно разберёмся в современной архитектуре в общем и в архитектуре курортных городов в частности. Вы увидите ключевые локации бульвара и узнаете, зачем архитекторы придумывают что-то новое, когда уже есть столько красивого старого. Лучше поняв, как и что строят сегодня в Батуми, вы сможете по возвращении домой свежим взглядом посмотреть на новые здания и районы вашего города.

Во время экскурсии я буду показывать вам архивные фотографии с видами города, изображения исторических персоналий и репродукции картин. Также послушаем грузинскую музыку!
