Витебский вокзал: хроники путешествия
Мы начнем прогулку от станции метро Пушкинская, где раньше располагался Первый петербургский вокзал. Поговорим о том, как он выглядел, и отправимся уже на Витебский. Я расскажу, как начиналось железнодорожное строительство в Российской империи и откуда взялось слово «вокзал». Шаг за шагом, исследуя залы, вы проследите в своем воображении путь пассажира начала XX века: что он делал на вокзале, как была проложена его траектория, и чем это было обусловлено.

Интерьеры в деталях
Я обращу ваше внимание на самые любопытные уголки Витебского вокзала и расскажу о тонкостях его архитектуры. Вы полюбуетесь дореволюционными витражами, увидите уникальную плитку в зале для пассажиров 1 класса, механизмы для опускания люстр в Картинном зале и старинный буфет в Ресторанном. Заглянете в Световой зал, стилизованный под городскую улицу 19 века. На платформе узнаете, как устроен дебаркадер — один из лучших образцов железнодорожного модерна в мире. А параллельно мы разберемся, какие технические детали прячутся за ярким модерновым фасадом.

Закончим экскурсию на привокзальной площади, где ненадолго задержимся у памятника воинам Первой мировой войны.

История железных дорог всегда загадочно манила к себе, поэтому на Витебский вокзал давно посматривал с интересом. На этой экскурсии словно окунулся к 19 век, узнал много нового о том, как все начиналось, увидел интерьеры и экстерьеры, актуальные и поражающие своей красотой даже спустя века. Единственное, о чем жалею - что не записался на нее раньше.
