Гуляете вы по Оксфорд-стрит и даже не подозреваете, что достаточно свернуть в один из узких переулков — и через 5 минут вы окажетесь перед величественным особняком. Это Манчестер-хаус, или Хартфорд-хаус, и он — хранитель шедевральной Wallace Collection. Вот туда, за упоительным знакомством с итальянской, французской, английской и голландской живописью, нам с вами и надо!

Что вас ожидает

Путешествие во времени
Согласно воле бывших владельцев, интерьер особняка не менялся с конца 19 века. Здесь бережно хранится память об изысканных временах и рафинированном вкусе жильцов-аристократов. В Хартфорд-хаус часто проходили пышные балы и литературные салоны. Император Александр I посещал особняк во время своего визита в Лондон. Дизайнер Вивьен Вествуд в 1990 году посвятила сокровищнице живописи свою коллекцию одежды The Portrait. Музей вообще сыграл важную роль в судьбах политиков, литераторов и представителей мира моды — я обязательно об этом расскажу, как и о многом другом.

Сокровища искусства
Вы узнаете об истории герцогов Хартфордов, политических интригах при английском, французском и русском дворах, и, конечно, о любовных перипетиях владельцев особняка. Но самое главное — вы увидите знаменитые полотна Ватто, Буше, Фрагонара (да-да, легендарные «Качели»), Пуссена; салонную французскую живопись XIX века; произведения Гейнсборо и Рейнолдса; всемирно известный шедевр Хальса («Смеющийся кавалер»); изысканные портреты и жанровые произведения Рембрандта, Тер Борха, работы Ван Дейка и Рубенса.

Ирина удивительно знающий, интересный рассказчик. Сама коллекция однозначно стоит внимания, здесь можно найти и прекрасную живопись, и предметы декоративно-прикладного искусства, и получить удовольствие от интерьеров. И увидеть шедевр Фрагонара «Качели».
