Описание

Музей, куда я вас приглашаю, находится в центре Лондона, но хранит атмосферу поместья 19 века. В этом доме жил Артур Уэлсли, 1-й герцог Веллингтон — национальный герой Англии, разгромивший Наполеона при Ватерлоо. Мы поговорим о военно-политической карьере герцога и его победе, рассмотрим знаменитую коллекцию картин и вспомним афоризмы Веллингтона: они также вошли в историю.

Что вас ожидает

Мы пройдём по залам особняка и закончим экскурсию на крыше арки Веллингтона.

Вы увидите:

  • Все (или практически все) боевые ордена герцога Веллингтона
  • Табакерки, шпаги, сабли и маршальские жезлы герцога
  • Севрский «египетский» фарфоровый сервиз, изготовленный для Жозефины Богарне — тот самый «второй» сервиз. Первый был подарен русскому царю и хранится в Музее керамики Кусково (126 предметов) и в Государственном Эрмитаже (10 предметов)
  • Гигантскую скульптуру Наполеона в виде бога войны Марса, выполненную итальянским скульптором Антонио Канова
  • Картинную галерею герцога Веллингтона с шедеврами Веласкеса, Тициана, Ван Дейка и Корреджо
  • Дары, врученные Веллингтону русскими монархами Александром I и Николаем I
  • Портрет Веллингтона, выполненный Франсиско Гойей, и портрет Веллингтона кисти Томаса Лоуренса
  • Галерею героев битвы при Ватерлоо
  • Сапоги Веллингтона (если они будут выставлены) — я расскажу, чем они знамениты
  • Вид на Лондон с высоты арки Веллингтона

Во время экскурсии:

  • Мы обсудим историю семейства Уэлсли и становление Веллингтона как полководца и парламентария. А также вспомним политические реформы, им проведённые
  • Вкратце рассмотрим биографию Наполеона и сравним её с биографией Веллингтона
  • Порассуждаем об английских интерьерах 18–19 веков и европейской политике, которая разворачивалась на их фоне
  • Затронем тему визита царя Александра I в Лондон в 1814 году, когда в городе происходило чествование союзников в войне с Наполеоном
